Rental Terms

All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided during the booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, associated charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Eligibility Criteria

Renting a vehicle requires:

• To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Crewe, you must be at least 21 years old, with age restrictions varying by vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional fees. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. You must also present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.

3. Reservations and Payments

• Reservations can be arranged via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Crewe office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pick-up. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. Payments are accepted through major credit and debit cards, securely processed by trusted payment providers.

Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

• Upon collecting your vehicle in Crewe, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed at this time. Please ensure the vehicle is returned in the same condition as when it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as received; if it is returned with less fuel, refueling charges will apply. Late returns could lead to extra fees, so please notify us as soon as possible if you expect to be delayed. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, in addition to an administration fee.

Insurance and Responsibility

• All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Comprehensive coverage information and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to limit your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options in detail. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, except when additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms will be your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.

6. Modifications and Cancellations

Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise details, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges. Please review these policies carefully to avoid unexpected fees.

7. Restricted Activities

Prohibited Vehicle Uses

• Engaging in any illegal activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any actions that pose a safety risk. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to others is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and operating outside designated geographical areas without prior permission are also violations of our terms.

Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.

8. Liability Restrictions

To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Crewe will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount you paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.

9. Local Legal Framework

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Modifications take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your agreement to the revised Terms.
