Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting the vehicle. This agreement outlines the terms, conditions, insurance specifics, associated charges, and your obligations for the rental duration. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle in Crewe, you must be at least 21 years old, though age requirements may differ based on the vehicle type, with possible extra charges for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional criteria may be specified in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Terms
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Crewe office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pickup. Prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed by both parties. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as received; if it is returned with less fuel, refueling charges will apply. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please notify us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Coverage
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. For complete coverage details and excess amounts, please refer to the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability, so reviewing these is prudent. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess unless further coverage is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of any insurance protections in place.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any dangerous maneuvers. Transporting hazardous materials is also not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding weight or passenger limits, and operating outside designated geographical areas without prior approval are strictly prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Crewe will not be held liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including any loss of profits, data, or business stemming from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for your rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to cases of negligence resulting in death or personal injury, or to instances of fraud.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in this region.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
